    Belt Buckles

    Gents
In the past you have helped. I hope to prevail upon your knowledge again.

I recently ran into two belt buclkes purported to be NAZI. Each was priced at 79.00 US. They both have rust on the front.

My question is how can you tell a real belt buckle from a fake one? What were they made of? Did all buckles have RZM marks on them?

IS the price high or low?

I believe both were marked GOT Mit UNS with an eagle and swastika under it.
    GOT Mit UNS--? Got Mittens?

Bob,If the buckles are RZM marked they are probably repro,Army buckles should not be RZM marked as the Armed forces were not part of the Nazi Party. There are original Army buckles RZM marked but they are rare. The price is no bargan,I would checkout E-stand as Army buckles show up there quite often.Jay Parisi

I have a Reichwehr buckle that I purchased at an estate sale over 30 years ago that is RZM marked.

        Best Regards,

        Dave

I have never seen one before now except a pile of poor fakes that was RZM marked.

So now I´m 100% sure they exist and still not a buckle expert but a bit wiser

I guess they are pretty scarce original?

            Cheers

Don"t worry since you have been very clever stating 99% (a German friend told me one day "never say never with 3 Reich items" and he was darn right). It is so far the only known RZM marked Heer buckle and we still don"t know why it was marked as such. So ...
