Hj-Assmann w. interesting Manufacturer marking

Hi,
today I've got this nice HJ buckle.
It is made by Assmann and it should be an early piece.
Material is nickel-silver.

I think, this kind of maker marks are not common.

Ingo, very nice buckle and I know of a man who is missing that buckle from his collection (not me of course)

love it! beautiful and seldom seen assmann mark!! this beauty has been on my wanted list for some time... I believe this buckle to be the 2 generations of markings before the commonly known A A&S GES GESCH RZM 17... I think the lineage went like this
c. A&S ges gesch
d. A ges gesch A&S
e. A A&S ges gesch rzm 17

I have an example (d) which has an added RZM 17 sideways on the buckle which was added after the buckle was produced.. which leads me to believe that the buckle was overstock at the factory when the RZM regulations changed and they remarked it before sending it out to fill purchse orders....

I thought that buckle might throw Chad for a "tizzy"!!! hahahaha! Excellent buckle - I agree: very seldom seen!
