    Two Gebirgsjager Buckles?

I purchased these two buckles from memory of this forum. I am quite sure they are authentic. When I came home and conducted a search I have been unable to find the old thread. This is buckle 1 front.

Buckle number 2, please note the eye. It seems to have been smacked. I did not notice this until photographs were being taken.

Buckle 2 reverse. The smack on the front did not affect the reverse of the eye. I would like to know if these are real. If they are not, my feelings will not be hurt. Thanks in advance.

          Hello WmMyers -

You are quite correct that they are authentic but both are very much post war. These are West German buckles. Not sure what you mean by Gebirgsjager buckle? All Wehrmacht soldiers wore assigned buckles to the specific duty of the soldier. If a Gebirgsjager soldier, most wore the Heer (Army) buckle during WWII.

          This is an example:

Thanks for the info. I now have two buckles for trade or sell, I need to pay attention to this forum more carefully. I was misled by the sticker on the buckles. I notice the stiching is darker on the WWII variety than the stiches on my examples. Many thanks again. Bill Myers
