Berg & Nolte and Gustav Brehmer

    Hi guys,

Here are a couple more recent finds. The first, a Luft. by Berg & Nolte and the second, a Heer by Gustav Brehmer. Both mm'd and dated 43. Not mint but been there I think.

Both nice Stu and typical late war buckles

Hi all. I am new to collecting so please excuse the stupid question. Just wanted to know whether the entertwined GB is ever stamped on the opposite side of the buckle from the catch side? Mine is stamped with the GB & 40 under the belt attachment side. Regards Thomas

                    Nice original buckles.
It is possible to have a makers mark underneath the belt roller, not so often seen as near the catch, but possible.

                    greetz,

                      Hello Thomas,

                      Welcome to WAF.

Yes, it's possible, and while I'm not sure how these were stamped I suspect it was by machine on an assembly line before the bar was put in place. It's easy to imagine that one of these buckle boxes was turned the opposite way around in the line resulting in the opposite end being stamped.

I hope you enjoy your time here. There is much that can be learned from the many knowledgeable contributors who post here on a regular basis.

                      Kind regards,
                      Stu
