Km
HelloCraig,
I have a buckle like the one you posted and the roller bar is brown. There is no km marking on it. I have been told that it was not km but I see them sold as km all the time. I have been told its a later war production. Me thinks it is not km. I know this don't help much.

Here's a similar thread I started about these KM/Late war buckles. I guess without a stamped KM tab it would be impossible to determine.

Hi Craig, these buckles have been called KM buckles, in the eyes of others they are late war used by all branches, Heer and KM. IMO it is in the eyes of the collector that matters. I have seen KM/Coastal Artillery buckles painted battleship grey in the past. For me a KM buckle has the KM stamp on the tab, that is what I class a a KM buckle. Everyone will be different. At the end of the day it is still a nice and original buckle. Just my 2 bobs worth
