    Paulmann & Crone Makers Mark

Hi guys, a new buckle arrived today that I find quite interesting. Nothing special and with a bit of damage but it has a makers mark that I do not have. I know that Paulmann & Crone had three types of makers mark, does anyone know which they used first or were all three in use at the same time? Any info would be great

    Thanks

    Ben

Does anyone have the third makers mark so we can complete the trio?

                Hi Ben,

the marking on the two piece buckle doesn't belong to Paulmann & Crone, it from Paul Cramer & Co !!

Hello Christian, are you sure? According to the Evans book the maker mark is Paulmann & Crone who has three maker marks! I will double check tonight and look in the Angolia also

Yes Ben, I'm absolute sure! I have an old sales catalogue from Paul Cramer & Co and the symbol is on the cover.

The makers list from the Nash book is very strange. Many listed makers were never found on buckles, well known companies are missing (search for Sieper!) and some are wrong (e.g. WLD and others...)

Christian, many thanks for that PM and the link to that catalogue, could you post so so everyone can learn from that. Here is the page from Nash's book that I got the info from, just shows that even the big boys get it wrong sometimes Many thanks for your help there Christian

This is very interesting. I've a LW buckle with the PuC makers mark and the leather tab is stamped Paulmann & Crone Lüdenscheid 1937 It's hard too see but it's clear enough that' not Paul Cramer
