      Hi Ron,
that's the first buckle what I see from your great collection, what I don't like

I've never seen on a Original 2-piece buckle a leather tab..

and I can't imagine that Werner Linker has produced Alu buckles for the Kriegsmarine.
A 2piece buckle is not a combat buckle..so it is impossible that there is a Kriegsmarine Stamp ( M with eagle) on that kind of buckle..
sorry it's hard to explain the sense of this kind of stamp
in English..but only on things which you need for combat on these things is this kind of M-Stamp.

Hi Ron, that is the first time I have ever seen a KM in this configuration. For me the tab does not look right with the buckle, it looks like they have not had the same wear. Musketeer is right in saying that I also have never heard of Werner Linker producing this type of buckle. saying this its only my opinion and I am no expert

          Musketeer,

That is the kind information needed to keep us all informed in this hobby and it is greatly appreciated!

Thank you for these well explained details.

This is what makes collecting interesting and an everyday quest for knowlege when hunting for new treasures.

Thank you again and best regards,
          RonR

            Hi Ron,
            one more..
This kind of stamp (M with eagle)--please what's the right word in your language?
This stamp you only can find on official items what belongs to the Kriegsmarine.
A 2piece buckle is a private purchased item.
It belongs to the buyer. So it cannot be, that there is a M-stamp on it.

My opinion is, that somebody has fixed this leather tab on that buckle..but the M-stamp looks very authentic.

I know some buckles, produced by Arld which have that M-stamp...so it it also possible that some Werner Linker buckles have a M-stamp.
But i can't imagine that these both items (tab and buckle) belongs together

Also this pebbled 2piece buckle looks very authentic as an private purchased Kriegsmarine buckle.

              Agree

              Ron,

I have to agree with musketeer.
Both buckle and tab are genuine, but does not belong together.
A private purchase buckle (gilding could be bad but I am not sure) with a good KM stamped tab (belonging to an iron buckle of the gold or blue type). Stiching cannot hide it is "recently" made.

Only the first in your impressive collection with a lot of very rare birds in stunning conditions.

                Ron,

referring to the tab I also have to agree with the fellows, but anyway the 2 pieces KM are very scarce and I personally like your example.

                Best

I to agree with what everyone has said, but have also seen leather tabs attached to both Luftwaffe and Heer parade buckles. I feel it is unusual, but I feel a solid example.
