    Is this a DLV buckle?

    Hello folks,
I have finally gotten around to take some decent photos of some of my buckles.

I have a quick question, is this a DLV buckle?

    Thank you,
    Jody

I do not think that the buckles shown here are exclusively DLV.

They were certainly worn by members of the DLV, however also, Luftwaffe and RLB personnel. Irrespective of what the reference works state, I do not think that there is any significance in relation to the specific buckle designs, i.e., horizontal or down-swept wings, being associated to a particular organisation. Instead, merely manufacturers variations.

              Regards,

              David

Interesting theory that I tend to share, but hard to confirm indeed.

                  Hi all.
I think Jody's buckle is DLV because it is unmarked. I go along with Davids theory of other groups using the design. Manufacturer variations would exist prior to late '34 but would have been standardized by early '35. And would have been RZM marked after that date... which Sergej's buckle is.
Just got into Stephen's RZM book and may stand corrected on this.
                  So what do y'all think?
Thanks for all the great info this forum has provided. John

                    DLV Buckle

                    Hi folks,
Thank you all for such great information. I think what David said makes great sense. That is the reason why I had to ask if it was a DLV buckle.

                    Regards,
                    Jody

The very interesting subject as to who specifically wore this buckle, has quite rightly been discussed many times before within the forum. In addition, there are lurking somewhere, images of early period Luftwaffe enlisted personnel wearing this almost "political" emblem buckle.

Here is a super studio portrait image that Andreas so kindly posted at the beginning of the year.

                      Regards,

                      David
