Luftwaffe Belt & Buckle - Opinions Please

Hello-

I believe this Luftwaffe belt & buckle dated 1939 is original, but would like your opinions to confirm this. The aluminum buckle is very well worn, but the belt appears to be in very good condition. Also, the leather tab attached to the buckle is darker than the leather on the belt. Is this normal, or does this indicate that the buckle is not original to the belt? Thank You - Eric Zemper

Hello Great looking belt. The catch is usually considered a police type catch and the brown leather is for rural police. I wouldn't want the buckle in this condition. Find yourself a police buckle and you've got a nice set. Kirby

Hi Eric, I think it is an interesting set. The buckle is well worn but a buckle not so often seen with the Baumeister makers mark. Also interesting to note is the belt hook with the Ernst Schnieder mark on it, first one I have seen. I suppose it depends on what you collect
