    Kriegsmarine Belt & Buckle

    Hello,

Thought I'd share my recent indirect Veteran aquired KM belt and buckle. Overall I think the condition is better than my photographs though I'm still hoping someday to get a Ex+/MINT one.

The buckle tab is marked as usual RSS 1938 along with the Marine Waffenamt. The belt is a size 95 and the mark I photographed is what I believe to be the Marine Waffenamt. This mark shows more detail under a magnifingy glass, but I guess it doesn't matter since I keep very few belts. There is also the name "Telke" that is both inscribed and written in marker underneath the belt tongue. I'm not sure if it is the German Veteran's name or the American Veteran's name.

Does anyone know if there was a specific location on belts where they placed the Waffenamt?

Finally, just a shot of my only two KM buckles. Hope you like.

    Steve

Steve those are a very nive KM buckles .

I have seen that in the RS&S buckles that the Marine Waffenamt was stamped in the back side of the leather the M is of the latin model, and in the more usual fromt stamp is of the "gotic" model.

                        Steve,

Excellent buckles. Especially the lower one pictured. It has nearly 100% of the chest feathers as well as all of the finish. Can't get much better than that. Unless of course you look at Marc's KM buckles which are stone mint.

                          Bill, Dave, Craig, Sergej,

Thanks for the kind words. I've had a hard time finding KM examples. I'm just glad to have two of them despite the less than desireable condition, but maybe I'm just being too picky.
