Low quality police buckle - genuine?

This low quality police buckle was considered genuine on the forum a couple of years ago. Is this one a good one too? Is there anything new known about this strange tipe of buckle? This one seems never been worn.

and the reverse... Again, it's not yellow colored, it's dull grey like old aluminium and quite lightweight. The "leather" tab is of very poor quality too, looks almost like a paper.

Hello Here's my example for comparison. My buckle has a nice unmarked wide tab. I have seen these with no tab and regular tabs. Kirby

It came with a matching police style belt that's marked 100 on the leather near the police style hook. Kirby

            Hello Valter,

for my knowledge this Forum does consider that kind of buckle a late war made original one : I personally agree.

            Kirby,

indeed a beautiful set : not often seen such buckle with matching belt.

            Best

Ric, thanks for good news, I appreciate that! Do we maybe know who was the maker of this one? And strangely, why there are no army buckles in this style? They should be more common than police.

Kirby, you have a very nice leather attachment here!

I think the leather tab don't belongs to the buckle..The short side of the tab must be outside not inside and the seams are strange ( hard to explain with school-English knowledge's)

I agree with Muketeer, the tab is probably not original to the buckle and has been added at some point. The short side of the tab is normally to the front but not always, Dransfeld sometimes attach the tab in this configuration.

I agree the tab should be shorter-end-out, but I still think this is an original tab on my buckle. The leather is of very poor quality, tipical "late war" and similar to some other leather tabs posted previously on this forum. I think nowdays it would be hard to find such bad quality leather as quality leather is abundant in Europe and not that expensive, so there's no need to produce such cheap "ersatz" leather. Wrong way of stitching would also match low quality of the buckle itself. For my belief, it would be easier for any faker to attach a "normal" leather tab, especially b/c this buckle is not much sought after or expensive. Any more opinions on this subject?

Valter, I am not saying that the tab is fake, only that it is my belief that the tab was later attached to the buckle and probably hand sewn. Late war buckles did not have tabs attached anyway. Just MO of course

Hey, I was not offended with your remark at all! We're just sharing opinions and knowledge, don't we? I agree it looks hand-sewn and I just think it's more likely to be period done than later .i.e. in last few years. And you're right, I forgot those buckles were issued without leather tabs, so it's a later addition anyway. that also explains why Kirby's buckle shown in this thread has such a good quality leather assembly, not corresponding to low qualitiy buckle.
