spotting fakes

    Welcome to the forum. Most will tell you something is fake but not why it is fake. If you look at the corners of the buckle you will see four impressions where four holding tabs held the buckle for the strike. This is not on original buckles as they were stamped in one motion. That method is too expensive for modern fakers so they do it in two motions one to stamp one to bend and thus the holding tabs have tell tale bend marks on them. Please tell me if I am wrong on this but I have a little knowledge of metal stamping and can tell how that was made.

      Thanks Paul I didn't know that. I've really gotten taken buying with I thought authentic items but I'm finding out several are fake. Thanks again...

        Another good way to tell is, the interior detail should be a mirror image of the exterior......Both should have exceptional detail....Bodes
