A super Der Stahlhelm buckle and one displaying a very crisp and highly detailed roundel. It is interesting and strange that you should mention or suggest that the maker could be St. u L. I have heard before that certain unmarked Der Stahlhelm buckles could have emanated from this company. Although St. u L. were responsible for manufacturing some quite eclectic buckles in the 1920's and early 1930's, to include those bearing the St. u L logo, I do not think that there is anything tangible with yours to suggest who the maker was. I am not aware that St. u L had a distinct and easily recognisable soldering technique. Attached is the most commonly seen logo for the early period buckles.
