Nice looking Imperial army belt and buckle. I find WW I belt buckles very interesting. Most of mune are no longer attached to thier belts and that is OK, as they are eaiser to display.
Because they are not nazi, other collectors are not as attracted to them.

              Hi merdock,

There's lots of interest in "Imperial" buckles on this forum (at least I think there is). Most people seem to be onto the 3rd Reich stuff, however.

Don't be disappointed about a lack of reactions. It's just that there doesn't seem to be anything special about your buckle, so there isn't really very much to post about it, apart from saying that it looks like a very nice example.

              Friendly,

              Schleppfux

There is plenty of collector interest in Imperial buckles, & many other world buckles, but for some reason this interest does not translate into a lot of online activity.

I've found very little online forum action around non-German helmets, for example, even tho non-German material is much-collected. The same is true of some other collectables.

Many Imperial buckle types are much scarcer than, say, a normal SS buckle & yet the Imperial may be priced lower. However, Hollywood has long been stoking interest in certain subjects, like the 3rd Reich & the American Civil War, whereas there is very little on TV & in films that deals with WWI.
