Way cool! Love that "squished" head on the adler! Nice to see with the early markings as well!
          Cheers!

Hello David A very nice buckle. I picked this one up at the last SOS. I never had looked up the maker. When I did I noticed the books list Fredrick Linden as being Number 24. I don't see a 45 in the early codes. Did Lindin have two codes? Kirby

Kind of a strange looking head on this one.

the RZM 45 is the first generation RZM mark which correlates to the M1 markings...M1/45 is Linden ..later generation M4 codes were different, and you are correct that M4/24 is Linden as well.. Chad

I suppose that in theory, a Linden buckle could have one, or a combination of four marks.

RZM 45 - as per the RZM M1 codes

UE 76 - as per the RZM M5 codes

KH 24 - as per the RZM M4 codes

M4/24 - as per the final RZM codes

                    Regards,

                    David

Hello David, Chad Thanks for the info. I know you guys are more into the makers than I am. I remember back in the early 70s when any SA buckle with a RZM mark was considered a fake. Kirby

                        Chromed nickel

                        Hello all,
I recently found an SA buckle made of nickel, not brass, which has chrome plating on top of the nickel. Anyone seen such a beast? The chrome could have been done post war, I suppose, but what would be the point? There are no maker marks or RZM. Can't supply pics, sorry.

Another SA buckle which is jolly similar to the one that I originally posted. The same distinct "hammer-head" type eagle and the almost double strike effect to the swastika. No RZM marks on this one and also, a totally different claw arrangement.

A pre RZM period buckle by the same maker ? If so, why effect a change in the claw arrangement ?

                          Regards,

                          David

                              Hello all,

all of this buckles are very nice and rare. Yesterday came my new buckle, it is a SA/nickel too with tilted square swastika. The maker is Paul Cramer & Cie and the belt is simply consists of carton-paper. I think that the belt is produced in the year 1944-45.

                              Regards,

                              Sascha
