Any Ideas on this one

Hi Guys,

Thought I pay you guys on the buckle forum a visite to ask for your opinions on the only buckle I own.

In fact it's a ground dug buckle that I got more then 20 years ago from an old German shoemaker who dug it up from his garden after I told him about my interest in German WW II items. If I remember correctly my father cleaned it with a sandblaster .

The buckle is in realy poor shape with no mm at all and seems to be made out of some kind off red copper.

Would appreciate your input on this poor devil that still has some sentimental value for me

It's an SA enlisted men buckle with rotated swastika. A plain brass field with a silvered face plate affixed by probably two spot solders. Type with the eagle's head below the bottom rope.
In this condition only a sentimental value.

Like you stated it realy just has that sentimental value but it's nice to know. Probably the old shoemaker wasn't realy proud about his NSDAP past and that was the reason for burying it in his garden.
