    Another fake SS Officers 36/43?

Is this another replica of the 36/43 buckle, or an original? Sorry for the poor pictures, but they are all I have. Thanks - Robert

              Dear fellow,

I have to disagree with above comments : in my opinion the buckle is perfectly sound.

Thanks Ric. It's academic at this stage, as the buckle has been sold - but is it good or bad? It's looked like a good mid-war zinc one to me, but I usually need help on these. s/f Robert

                  Hello Robert,

you may find many kind of crimps on SS officer buckles , the type posted is one of them even if seldom seen (at least by myself) and it's factory done .
The buckle (zink silvered) is original, made by Overhoff in 1943.

No sweat, brother. Ultimately, the decision to buy is the collectors - had i known my material better, I should have scored it. Thanks anyway for jumping in! s/f Robert

Probably an original but I will not dare to give a 100% call based on those photos. This buckle has a very particuliar feature which NEEDS to be carefuly checked! Without strong confirmation performed by someone having the buckle in his/her hands (so been able to check in person since I doubt a photographic close up could bring the evidence) it is kind of impossible to tell for sure. Back in 2003 some close to perfect fake zinc 43's were already seldom seen. This one does not show their quick give away (from a photo) but ... that was four years ago.
