40 mm Dragon buckle

Hello all,
I managed to find a 40 mm (enlisted) version of this magnificent rare buckle. It is of German manufacture. I have three versions of these buckles (one stamped with "Lever" on the back), none the same, implying a number of different makers for a buckle of probably limited production. Mind you, Germany had a colony in China from 1897 to 1914 and employed Chinese as auxiliaries and police so maybe several hundreds of these buckles were made.
Probably my favourite buckle. Intriguing!
