    Hi,

Is this a good 2-claw buckle??

    Kind regards,

Never saw this kind of stamping before, could we see more from this belt like the sewing lines? The original SS open claw or officer leather belts I saw got different stampings then this one.

Interesting buckle and buckle. I haven't come across one like this before. I've seen a few with stamped markings in the leather but not on the buckle . Looking foreward to seeing what the forum thinks. It's the only claw buckle I've see I would like to have in the collection. Kirby

I have never seen a clawed buckle stamped in this manner. Mind you, I am not saying this is a bad buckle but it raises enough red flags of an extreme one-off that would make me shy away from purchasing this buckle/belt. My take away are the numerous markings; why... especially on the slim bar of this type buckle. This would be overkill in stamping on this type buckle. I magnified to 1000% the "A" and from the picture and it looks pretty good but not enough to sway me. This, IMO, would require an absolute hands on inspection before I give it a . Until then, someone else, as Kirby has suggested, needs to provide proof that these stampings existed on the claw buckle.

        Regards,
        Dan

.... I don't like the markings, A - stands for Assmann manufacturer and number 36 stands for Overhoff manufacturer , both markings make strange combination on this type of buckle....

Sorry Gerd, but I really don't like the claw. Looks a little bit over killed (not sure if this is the right word).
The "36" marking to the right reminds to SS EM fake with a similar marking.

I know about a few Assmann double claws (not SS marked) and the markings looks always different from yours. All stampings appear very crude made.
And -finally- I don't like the double "A-DRGM" stamp (in the center) beside another DRGM marking.

Sorry, but all in all I have to give you a straight

Why would somebody stamp it on the claw there the stamp size in larger then the surface. Original SS/RZM open claw buckles have a stamped leather.

Hi Gerd, I collect EM buckles and not these types but I have to agree with the rest, it seems like an overkill of makers marks on a open claw buckle, and I dont like the Assmann mark or any of the others to be truthful

I tend to agree with the majority on this one, insofar as the stampings are not period or even accurate. Actually, a fantasy rather than a fake. Crikey - talk about "over egging the pudding " though. As previously mentioned, the incongruous combination of the Assmann A with a recognised Overhoff SS mark and just for good measure, the SS runes thrown in as well. All spurious in my opinion, although a worryingly stark reminder to what fake related hand punch tools are now readily available to the unscrupulous.

                    Regards,

                    David

                        Hello friends,

Thanks for all your advice! I'll steer away from this one

                        Kind regards,
