Indeed, Emmanuel : RLB/DLV buckles by alu are scarcer than nickel ones.
The example you posted is an original variant.

A rare buckle indeed !
Any aluminium buckle with a brazed catch is worthy of mention, as I understand that this a technically somewhat difficult process.
As a matter of interest, here are images of a down swept wing aluminium DLV/W-LW/RLB buckle, with again, a brazed catch.

I have to disagree with you : even if not so easy to make (due to the soft metal), soldering alu vs alu is absolutely strong.
Btw, congrats for the nice find (probably by Overhoff)

Many thanks for posting your latest acquisition.
A super buckle and dare I say, bought at a very competitive price.
As Ric has so rightly mentioned, this form of catch attachment is actually quite strong, albeit technically difficult to undertake as I understand. Ric suggested that the buckle could have emanated from Overhoff, as the tool marks on the pin shroud and the style of claws, sing out OLC !
A grossly under rated group of buckles in my opinion.

David
