my opinion is reproduction.... but i had not another buckel of Studentenbund....


nevertheless i doesn't like the buckle....

I still believe this is a cast reproduction, but I am taking this from the pictures that have been presented..the color is a little too grey for me and the finish to the metal has the not smooth appearance I have seen when I have handled new cast repros... Chad

Many thanks for posting new and more detailed images of the buckle.

The new and detailed images have been a revelation to me. Quite simply, this is the very first time that I have seen this buckle. I now agree with Ric and Chad that the NS-Studentenbund buckle shown is a cast fake.

Up until seeing these images, I had actually doubted the presence of this buckle being faked in such a specific way. The tell tale fingerprint of casting is obvious and as Ric had originally thought. There are just too many lumps and bumps on this buckle to suggest anything other than a cast fake.

The detail of the RZM logo and code is superb and also, what about those striations on the inner edge of the buckle - brilliant !

A fake though in my opinion and I am now in chorus with Ric and Chad.
