With all due respect and without wishing to appear overly stuffy, there is only one God and I do not think that He is particularly bothered about HJ belt buckles. In addition and in my opinion, there is no single forum member who has a final say about any buckle.

This is an interesting HJ buckle, although not so much by the design and instead, by the slightly unusual construction. Ric has quite rightly isolated a tell tale "fingerprint"" feature that could correlate this HJ to a particular SA.
Here is an SA that appears to have very similar constructional features. A most distinct catch and not only by the feet, however also, a slightly flattened top section. In addition, the same stub claw tips and style of pin shroud. Finally, I think that the shape of the box ears are jolly similar too.
No first series RZM mark on the SA unfortunately, although if I had to guess, then Steinhauer und L******252;ck of L******252;denscheid would be my first choice.

Hello all,....
you guys are funny... a god I am not, nor a king, but thanks for the flattery.. just a construction worker who collects youth buckles the buckle is beautiful!! perfectly sound and not all that common. The maker is RZM 34 Karl Wurster..please see this thread which shows numerous examples of other DJ and HJ buckles by this same maker as well it has an M1 code referance which David North was nice enought o compile and post for the forum. You can use this referance to find any first run RZM codes ie. (RZM 34) here is the link http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/foru...hlight=M1+list
