Gents, i have a couple of questions..

1) Who is the maker of this aluminum police buckle(once gold finished..)?

2) What is the best book out there to find maker marks and maker names, strictly dealing on the subject of German buckles?

Hi there, I had a police buckle with this mark, it is believed to be E F Weidmann Ref the books,again Angolia's revised edition or Peter Nash's German belt Buckles 1845-1945. I bought both

Thanks Ben..what with the number of reference books needed to research one item, i was hoping to find a book that would narrow the field down!

There is a mine field of Ref to makers, alot of the early makers dont even get mentioned in the books, some makers merged into one company, and even the books dont have it right either!!! The best source of info is this forum if you only collect the occasional buckle Most of the buckles out there, collectors will have them in collections which are available for Ref
