            Its a pre war czech belt buckle, thats all I know for sure...

              A pre-war 1st pattern Czech buckle and relatively common. The 2nd and rarer pattern has just the shield and cross over the mt. as shown on the chest of the lion.

                    It is very similar to the one I own and manufactured by Math. Salcher & Sohn. The only difference is the base of the shield where on my buckle it looks to be water than the mountain. Was MSS associated with creating buckles for Czechoslovakia? They very well could as MSS was located in Jablunkau.
                    Thoughts?

                            I can only confirm that this is indeed a Czechoslovak buckle. I am Czech so I have seen many like that before. As you can see, it has he Czech Lion with the Slovakian shield on its chest. That's back from when Czech Republic and Slovakia were one nation.
