PLEASE, your thoughts about a SS-Police brocade

    Hello,
I was talking with a friend of mine about this brocade belt, and we would like to have other opinions on a detail: will try to describe it at the best on my poor English!
We noticed that the stitching, as it gets closer the buckle, tends to go downwards, perfectly in the same way, both on top and bottom stitching.
    Why this?
The brocade looks pretty good, bullion embroidery has a light, nice natural "patina" oxidation, and when you round it you can hear some "crackle"noise.
The velvet is polizei green, and the buckle is unmarked.

Please, let us know your opinion about the stitching!
    Many thanks in advance!
    Daniele

                          Hello,

I have never owned one of these. Is it common for the edge sewing to angle in like this on the ends?

                          Regards,
                          Bill Unland

I just double-checked mine and the stiching is the same at that angle. Nothing to worry about.

Perhaps it is a design quirk of the permanent buckle variety. I still have two regular SS-Pol.Fuhrer Feldbinde and one for Wasserschutzpolizei, but all three have the leather adjustment tabs for attaching buckles. I had one or two of the buckle attached types since sold, but I can't remember the stitching. May I suggest that it perhaps was a result of difficulty in running the sewing machine up to the buckle cross piece over which the brocade belt was doubled. Do the ones pictured above have the paper SS acceptance tags.
