    Fake ? Assmann DRGM 36 ?

This is an interesting buckle, currently up and running within one of the auction sites.

Actually, I have seen this "box" type quite a few times now.

The box always shows the odd combination markings of the Assmann logo, DRGM and 36. Up until now, I have seen NSBO and veteran associated emblems on this box, although now, a fliers association type.

    Any thoughts ?

My leaning is towards a fake. I suppose that the buckles would be plausible with the Assmann logo in splendid isolation, however the declared DRGM and a date to boot, does not ring true. As often noted, the faker "egging the pudding".

A fake in my opinion, although again, any thoughts would be welcome.

    Regards,

    David

        hello david,
i agree with you when you say they are fake.
i have a nsbo of that type and i have seen a kriegsverein as well. both 2 are very heavy and the box was to soft and could be bended very easily.
the box itsself and esp. the ears look "selfmade".
in total i do not like them.

          David,

This is a bad buckle. I have seen this mark and variations on a number of other buckes of various types including postals.

By the way, I finally figured out how to post photos.

              Thankyou for confirming my suspicions.

I seem to recall that the attached buckle generated great interest and a price to match, within one of the German auction sites last year.

              Regards,

              David

p.s. - Bill - look forward to seeing images of your Imperial/Weimar buckles.
