Hello forum members, I am posting a steel Luftwaffe enlisted man belt buckle with leather tab for comments. The leather tab has an oval maker mark which reads SCHMOLE & COMP ~ 1940 ~ MENDEN ( the impression is somewhat weak at left side). The steel buckle has an impressed maker mark just forward of the catch which reads S (likeness of a tree) C ~ 1940. The buckle has 30 percent of the original blue/grey paint remaining on the obverse and 75 percent on the reverse side. The buckle looks like it saw some field use and was found in the estate of a U.S. veteran. Will anyone confirm that it is genuine? What is the market value for e-stand? Thanks in advance for all the help.........Harry C

Nice 1940 Schmole Luft buckle and tab.
I have noticed that all the 1940 Schmole Luft buckles I have seen have very little or no pebbling on the obverse and reverse background behind the eagle?
