        I must admit that any buckle with a soldered split pin puts me on guard.

        This one is almost too good to be true.

        I think that it is original, or rather should I say, not a fake.

        The roundel to my knowledge is not as yet copied, although it is only a matter of time. It is sometimes perhaps forgotten that Der Stahlhelm was a perfectly legal post 1945 organisation.

        Pre 1945 ? - goodness knows !

                          I rarely visit the auction sites now and I never saw this buckle. I wish that I had though.

                          The buckle does not look like a "fake" to me. Whether the buckle was made in the 1920's or the 1950's, is any persons guess. It does display some 1920's era characteristics though.
