Assmann - the rare "large RZM 17"

This is I think a quite rare and early mark for "Fritz" Assmann.

The overly large RZM 17 and seen both in isolation and supported by more traditional Assmann marks.

The SA is from my collection, however images of the rare HJ, have been so kindly supplied by a fellow forum member.

A rare and somewhat desirable mark in my opinion.

    Regards,

    David

Here, one HJ buckle from my collection.
left side marked A&S and the right side marked with the big RZM17

Many thanks for the image of the HJ with the RZM 17.

Interesting to note that the 2 HJ's have the RZM 17 differently positioned. I wonder if the RZM 17 was an after thought and post production application - hand stamped by Assmann ?

Apart from the SA and HJ - any other buckles known with the large RZM 17 mark ? DJ perhaps ?

                    Regards,

                    David

                        hi guys
I happened across this thread just today even though it is a few months old... I definately think that the sideways RZM 17 in the HJ was an after thought, I believe that Assman had a large stock of these on hand in the factory and before shipping them out, the regulation in regards to markings changed. So they probably unboxed them restamped them to the new regulation (RZM ??) and then shipped them out, this is the only plausable explanation I can come up with ..I will check and see if I have any DJ buckles with this mark, but I dont believe that I do... Chad
