Dark brown officers belt

Hi Guys,
I was hoping to get some opinions on a dark brown officers belt I am thinking of getting. I know it is pre '45 but mainly wanted some opinions on the dark colour of it.
Is it normal to be such a dark brown as I always thought the earlier officer belts were more of a light brown colour. Could it be for some other branch of service rather than army, or is it okay being a dark brown colour?

I'd be wary of that stamp. Look for a belt that still retains its leather loop so you don't have to tuck the excess behind a holster or something!
