    Paul Cramer Heer - Opinion

I discussed this buckle with Ben today and felt we should throw this to the forum for a consult. We both feel it is an original P Cramer Heer but there are questions concerning the prongs. As I do not own another it is difficult for me to provide a stare and compare hence our reaching out to you all for your expert opinions. As I do not have htis buckle in hand these will be the only photos available at this time.

    Thanks in advance - Dan

        Hallo Dan & Ben,

IMO nothing wrong with this bird : in my experience (and Marc has confirmed) the factories did use all the components (catch, prongs, roller pin) up to exhaustion. So no surprise having a steel box with alu post sleeve assembly......and I would accept the roller pin by alu as well !

BTW, a very nice Paul Cramer variant.....

        Best

        Ric

Just an example : here's an OT buckle long feet variant, since it's a well worn buckle no doubt box and post sleeve assembly were together since the war time, in such example only the roller pin is by alu and I have another one like this.

Thanks for that Ric, I knew the buckle was ok, it was just the prongs and assembly that I had to be sure of, but on reflection if you look at the head of the pin, the paint is the same as the rest of the buckle, so if the buckle is ok, it is same to surmise that so is the rest as per your explanation. I think in future a little more examination and deduction is needed By the way another nice buckle you have

I would have been suspicious too, Ben.

I am still not 100% convinced. Maybe when Dan would have the buckle in hands, he could take other pics about the bar assembly.

                  Wait and see.

Sorry for not replying back in awhile. I appreciate your feedback as always.
