          Sergej

A very interesting DRK buckle and of course, seen stamped as both GES. GESCH. and GES. GESCH.1.

The majority of these buckles, seem almost too good to be true by the overall, near mint and non issued condition.

They are faked by a cast aluminium technique and so far, I have only seen those stamped GES. GESCH.1.

I have never thoroughly examined a fake and attached are some very poor images of the fake in all its glory. Even with the grim images for comparison, I think that the buckles are totally different - chalk and cheese and all that.

In my opinion, the one that you have shown is original.

There are three special details that I particularly like about the one that you have shown as:-
          • crisp and extremely sharp detail, albeit with very tiny "bubble" marks which are synonymous with casting
          • drawn aluminium claws
          • no obvious signs of post casting "reworking"
          Regards,

          David
