A splendid and extremely rare "eagle and swastika" FAD buckle that you have so kindly shown.
It is in my opinion a slightly mysterious buckle by the usually encountered construction detail and I must admit, it is not my favourite design.
The strange feature is that whenever I have seen one and towards which I have been comfortable with, the roundel seems to have been "added" to an otherwise recycled Imperial or early Weimar brass box.
A buckle by the roundel detail only, now well faked.

Just imagine prising this roundel off, distressing it and then, applying it to an original Imperial or early Weimar box.

Hello David You can't be 100% sure of this type buckle but it came on a nice belt and the wear all seem to match. I had seen a couple of the fakes and I liked it enough to take the chance. KirbyComment

I dearly hope that my response did not read as though I was casting aspersions on your super FAD buckle, as I think that it is perfectly original. Instead, I was merely commenting on what I think is a common characteristic for this buckle.
My apologies if the response was badly and clumsily worded.
