          Hi David just a thought, that swastika buckle you have looks like WW1 buckle that has had the swastika soldered on then rubbed down

            Perhaps a little naughty to include the full face swastika buckle within this very important SS related thread.

            I think that the current reference books attribute this buckle to the SS (Stosstrupp/Stabswachen ?), although I have my doubts and similarly so with the Gau Essen.

            Instead, an early and overt NS supporters buckle !

            As with so many early NS buckles, the Imperial or Weimar association by construction is apparent. In addition, somewhat "crude" by construction methods and make up.

            Attached is another "Kampfzeit" buckle and also, images that Marc posted on the forum a few years ago.
