      This is one I have not seen before...although I believe I have seen it w/o the markings...very nice

        Hi there, do you know the maker?, It looks like a Overhoff one, are the pongs original or have they been replaced at some time?

                  I have seen this very same prong and sleeve on an early nickel HJ..the one I am thinking of even had the little wrapped wire you see on this on..let me see if I can find it, it may have a maker mark on it...Chad

                    I couldt find the one I was thinking of, and dont mean to hyjack this SS thread , but this buckle also has the brass prong and sleeve with the flat top staple catch and is a mystery to me.. it appears to be marked M4/103 for Rudolph Schanes ??? I would love some feedback on this... also was the brass staple cathc (with a flat top ) a common trait multiple makers used??? Chad

                            This was a common technique helping to date the buckle manufacture. A buckle with such "little wire" remaining was indeed produced no later than the early 30's.
