Music buckle

Got this with other stuff from area vet's footlocker. Haven't seen this one before. Brass with remains of silver finish. Marked on the back RZM and 24. I'd guess SA musician? I am I right, and is it a rare item?

Wow, never even seen one before, not in the books either, wonder if it is a pre 1933 buckle? have you any pics of the rear?

Hi Nutmeg, I'm no buckle expert, but Angolia's book has other variations of this buckle describing it as a Civilian Band Member buckle. There are several styles in the book. A rare buckle in my opinion. Hope this helps. Duane

Maybe it's a post war re-issue. I've seen a few buckles that had the roundel either replaced or modified. That could explain the RZM mark.

I got it directly from the vet's footlock and he came home in 45. Nothing was after WW2. There were a number of SA buckles, one ss , some army and pre Nazi army buckles , a few unapplied roundels. Here is a picture of the footlock contents spread out just after I brought it home.
