I don't know if the tab and buckle were mated but I would date them to the same time period and why the tiny pictures? You buy items based on pictures that small? You can bring a horse to water......

Hi Tom, had a look when I got home last night. The maker sounded familiar, early war I believe there was a leather manufacturer or metal worker from the Menden area, there was one in Krefeld with the same name also. regards to the buckle IMO it looks like a normal Heer buckle with either a gold wash on or paint. Does the tab smell old and is the stitching period?

Got The Buckle This Morning,will Try To Post Pics Tommorrow(at Work At The Moment) Igot It With Me And Will Let John T Look At It Tonight For His Opinion.tab Is Definately Old And Has That Old Smell.the Tab And Buckle Just Look Right.the Stitching Looks Old As Well.hopefully Better Pics Tommorrow.just Out Of Curiosity Why Is It A Problem For A Two Piece Buckle To Have A Tab?

om.. two pieces buckle are a dress/walk out buckles... now this kind of buckles are not made with tab - its only a combat buckles feature.
I'v never seen a walk out buckle with originally applied tab. Now - I am not saying I'v seen everything... but I will be very suprised if thats originall stiching...
