P-U.....anytime you see a buckle with this kind of eagle (looks like a bat), you know it's bad! This repro series made all kinds of buckles, not just KM...

Hi Harry,

Yes the buckle is a fake as others have stated and here's a few reasons why.

- The lack of detail to the eagle, hakencruz
- The catch bar is too close to the edge of the buckle
- Insignia disc too large.
- The angle of the prongs

I believe the fake you've shown is from the 1970's. These type of fakes are all made in rusty steel using no paint, though some were painted. The same dies were used for all types of these buckles therefore many have the same disinct features regardless of the insignia used by the fakers
