    Luft buckle or paperweight?

Good day to all...I was given this buckle a couple days ago. It is different from my other steel Luft buckle in that the prongs are unevenly cut and slimmer. The details of the wreath are very crisp yet the reverse stamping is much less so. Last but not least, the catch is half the width of my other one. Overall dimensions are the same.

Could this be very late war when the focus was no longer on quality? Any other thoughts?

    Thanks in advance.

    Stu

              Hi Stu,

I'm sorry but the buckle you posted bears all the features of a fake one, IMO is not original

              Regards

              Ric

                    Thanks, that's what I figured.

Thanks guys, I was pretty sure it was a fake. A well intentioned gift from a friend so no money is lost.

                    Regards,

                    Stu
