Heer Buckle

Want to know if this is a genuine Wehrmacht buckle
Have the belt with it, I cannot read it where the makers code should be, there are some obsecure letters that aren't readable, must be well worn there. Letter front shows a 1939 date with a visable oval. (worn there too)

Hi Mike,

yes it is an original Heer buckle.
Very hard to say, who the maker is without a readable maker mark.
Perhaps there is a mm under the prongs?
Have you tried to moisten the tab a lttle bit and read then the faint mm against the light? (But be careful: only a little bit moisture)
