    Some buckle opinions needed please

Hi guys, I would like to put some buckles up for evaluation before putting them on e stand.
Also need some help on pricing them as I have no clue about the value of these items.

    Thanks in advance,
    Tino

Not to confident about this one... but hey you never know
BTW it didn't come from the same source as the RAD buckle.

Reverse, it's pretty crude and has no markings.

          Hi Tino,

the LW buckle (oval shape) is not original
About the RAD buckle, could you tell me if it's by magnetic steel ?

I'm iffy about that RAD buckle too.....prongs don't look the best, no markings in the reverse of the spade and prongs look like they lack the quality found on RAD buckles. Here's a question (kind of)....I thought RAD were only made in aluminium injection moulding - yes?

            Cheers...

              Rob,

if you are referring to the RAD buckles with the molded in catch bridge, they were die stamped as the SS alu made : the buckles alu or zink made with flat back can be considered injection molded.

The buckle is made out of aluminum and here are some more pictures of the prongs.

IMO no doubt about originality, although the unusual catch system for RAD buckles.

I agree with Ric in all points.

                      1. The RAD buckle is usually produced die stamped, not casted. I've just heard about a casted variant. This must be very very rare.

                      2. This buckle has an unusally catch, but is a doubtless original in my eyes.

                      3. I have only one contemporary catalog selling this kind of variant (as private purchase buckle), it is from Steinhauer & Lück. I assume not many makers produced that one.

                        Hi Christian,

thanks for your punctual support, any chance to view the buckle you mentioned by the catalog ?

No chance Ric, because the buckle is not shown in the catalog

It is not such a beautiful catalog like the one from Assmann. It contains no photos, just a general description of the item.

They sold the RAD buckles (and others!) in three variations.

1.Officially variant aluminium with profil catch (with or without tab)
2.Private purchase variant aluminium in two pieces
3.Private purchase aluminium one piece but with soldered catch.
