There are three pics attached, I'm guessing you can't see anything?

      Or am I missing something?

Perhaps one of the chaps who specialise in W-Heer buckles will (hopefully) contradict me, however I am not at all happy about the private purchase buckle that you have posted.

I actually think that this is one of the actually seldom seen fakes.

Quite uncomfortable with the roundel in toto.

Is there any history or provenance to prove myself wrong ?

              Regards,

              David
That's why I posted it here as "I know nothing"

I originally thought it could be a fake but did a search here and found a few that looked similar. This led me to believe it could be the real deal, now if you look closely at the picture below there is a stamp on the top right metal fold on the back side. Is it quite common for fakes to be stamped??

If it is a fake, no big deal as it belobngs to my Wife's Grandmother and she has had it in her basement for quite some time.

                Hallo,

any chance of viewing the front side buckle not by an inclined plane ?

Sure, I'll go over tonight and take pics, I'll also see if I cna get a real close up of the stamp.

                  Thanks

It certainly looks like it has the curved prongs that my buckle of the same type has. By chance, does the inner sidewall stamp appear to be an Assmann "A" within a circle with a dot on each side?

I think maybe the braided doodad on the prong bar might be throwing people off as to construction and could have been put on long after the fact?

Here is a thread showing the Assmann stamp and curved Overhoff (?) prongs found on my buckle and then confirmed by Marc with him having the same buckle.
