    Heer Buckle

guys what you think about this belt buckle ??

    Hello,

I think it is an original and worn Heer buckle by the maker Noelle & Hueck out of the year 1941 without its leather tongue.

    Regards,
    Guido

Very timely post as I have just discovered this weekend, from my late fathers footlocker, a very similar Heer buckle that was attached to a black belt and accompanying ammo pouches. The oddity from my opinion is that I have not seen this maker mark before and hopefully some of my colleagues can enlighten me of this maker.
        Thanks - Dan

I will try for a better angle of the maker mark but it is the initials ELS in a triangular formation surrounding the number 42. I understand the the 42 is the year of production but I am curious to the initials and whom they belong to. Thanks- Dan

Hi Dan, I think the maker is Ernst Schnieder out of of Ludenschied (I am at work at mo, if I was at home I would post one that I have)

Regiment is bang on the money....That's the maker alright. I also have a similar buckle.

                  Looks good!

Ric, that is a very unusual tab. Can I assume that it was added by the soldier in the field?

                            Dan,

I have nothing to support my theory, but I guess it could be by a local manufacturer somewhere in the Sud front.
Up to now I recorded the same web tab on buckles by Ernst Schneider in Ludenscheid 42, Berg & Nolte 42 and another unmarked but by B. Haarmann.

Interesting, first time that I have seen that style of tab.
