more info on this buckle ... although it looks as it has a gold wash to it, it is a one piece heavy nickel silver, painted silver left facing high necked eagle. I have not handled one previously so I am seeking out my colleagues who may have one and provide me some factoids of this buckle. I have a chance to purchase this but need more info as it does not come cheap.

Thanks for your help - Dan

No takers on this buckle???? Anybody?????

I know Marc V has a particular background in this realm so hopefully he can provide some assistance.

Let me know folks ... I will sit patiently for awhile longer!

Although I (with others of course), waded into your last "Diplomatic" related thread...

          http://dev.wehrmacht-awards.com/forums/showthread.php?t=161268&highlight=Diplomatic

..., this one is perhaps much more difficult.

Design and finish look absolutely fine.

A construction method however is extensively replicated on fake "Leaders" buckles, as we know from the plethora of fake HJ-Leaders, currently in circulation.

Hopefully, someone better versed and experienced within this most specialised field will chip in.

          Regards,

          David

            David,

I too, went through all the previous threads to include my last inquisition on this buckle type. I agree with you that the design, specifically the obverse side, looks fine in my estimation but I am having doubts on the reverse. I am also not all that familiar with the high necked eagle, hence my call out to others.

I know there is someone out there .....

            Cheers,
            Dan
