    2 Luft buckles

I was comparing these two luftwaffe buckles and noticed how different the detail was. I was wondering if one wasn't a fake. Buckle number 1 has a tab dated 1942 but the eagle's beak looks elongated compared to buckle no. 2, a marked assman without a tab. Also buckle no. 2 has a very pronounced pebbling which is very visible fron the reverse. Buckle no. 1 has pebbling but not near so much. Is this just a difference in makers or is one bad?

Good news and bad news actually.

The 1942 Bernhard Haarmann is quite original and a rather desirable W-LW buckle.

The one however masquerading as an Assmann, is a thankfully well known and documented fake.

            Regards,

            David

May I suggest that you/we, obtain a "second opinion"

Thanks. With that many opinions I'll consider it fake. Thanks to all

Maybe that the Photo don't give back the right colour but both buckles seems to have the same colour..
Maybe that I'm wrong, but the B Haarmann buckles looks like repainted. You can see also a bit of blue Colour on the leather tab.
