Green/grey painted Der Stahlhelm buckles

Here is a slightly novel brace of "Der Stahlhelm" buckles.

Interesting to note the same roundel (ish) and reverse of box design, although one as zinc (?) with a zinc (?) roundel and the other, as brass with a nickle silver roundel.

The otherwise common feature though of, or having been, green grey painted.

Any comments or any others that can be added ?

I always loved this buckle design ! thanks for sharing these beautiful buckles with us. I found that if a buckle didnt have a swastica on it, there was usually less interest by collectors, but I think that this is not the case with these , there is something great about the design that always attracted me to them... How right you are.

No swastika = minimal interest !

No issue with that of course.

Here is a Der Stahlhelm that I posted on the forum years ago.

It does appear within a well known reference tome, although there was the strong suggestion within the forum (at the time), that this buckle, was actually a specially commissioned "fantasy" piece from the 1960's era.
