Crikey !

This is only the second time that I have seen this particular and decidedly unusual buckle. One the same, appears in a very well known buckle reference publication.

I am unfamiliar with this most unusual roundel design, although the eagle does have a hint of the well documented L u F style, always seen on the upright swastika SA's. A remarkably disproportionately small body in relation to the wing size and of course, a slightly eccentrically set sun wheel swastika within a very narrow wreath.

The roundel and the roundel affixing method does not overly worry me, unlike the RZM M4/14 stamping.

I do not like the stamping one little bit.

It is very rare to encounter the final format M4/** mark on any SA buckle, although B u N did so and I hold an example.

The stampings on this buckle just do not ring true, by what they declare and also, by their font and font size.

A tad upsetting to say this, however I think that we are seeing an early and unusual fake.

Any possibility of sharper images ?
