    Belt Grouping, Help Needed

    Hi Guys,
I have been offered some belts, but wanted to get a second opinion. The SS officer looks crude and put together to me. The others look to have possibilities, put the sewing on the tab of the KM buckle looks suspicious to me. Am I paranoid or do you see some problems? Opinion wanted.

First the bad news. The SS Officers buckle is bad, as is the SS EM buckle,. Don't know that much about belts but I would have to say that the SS officers belt is bad as well. The good news is that you have two very scarce Kriegsmarine buckles both in one piece aluminum and both( I can't see the maker mark on one of them) but I bet it is also RS&S and very likely property marked as well. These are tough buckles to find even w/out the mrked tabs. Condition leaves a bit to be desired on the one but still a good buckle. The early droop tailed Luft. EM buckle is also a tough one to find and looks to be in pretty good shape. There is nothing wrong with the Army buckle either. If you can get the four good ones without having to buy the other two I would jump on them. Good luck.

          Gene,
I don't have any information on the LBA mark. Bill, thanks for your analysis.

            Hi Gerard,

I would like to see some more pictures of both KM buckles. Pictures of the prongs, the front and the tabs with the markings.

            Greetings,

            Frans

              Buckles are in

              Hi Guys,
I just got the buckles in and have some question. The KM buckle with the eagle "M" tab, has the maker obscured, you can only see the very tops of the letters, but tab is maker marked "R.Sieper & Sohn" and also 1937. The second, has been denazified, then renazified (by a collector, I'm sure), it is marked R.S &S., but tab is marked "--UL KREM--" and 1940. I assume the tab is replaced? Let me know what yuou guys think. both of the finished are different, both buckles are aluminum.

A frontal view would help, but from what I can see the SS enlisted man's buckle looks like a good unmarked O&C. But again, good photos directly from the front and rear would help.

Both the W-KM enlisted buckles appear to be original examples by Sieper. Highly desirable !

The one though that has been de nazified and the swastika then re formed, has in my opinion, a post production leather tongue. A clumsy add on to try and dignify the buckle.

The other one however enjoys a clear Sieper stamp on the tongue and the very distinct over size "political" style eagle and M, which has been discussed several times before within the forum.

Original W-KM enlisted buckles by Sieper in my opinion.

                              Regards,

                              David
