Goodness knows what the metal is, although it can on occasions be remarkably "white" in relation to the early "grey" fakes.
The last image is particularly interesting and not solely for the clear indication of the reduced dimensions, relating to the cast fake.
Three special points perhaps to include (1) the clear indication of a casting process by the "ridge" on the buckle edge, which is usually buffed off, (2) the distinct pin dome, although I understand that these vary by configuration and last but not least, (3), the stippled effect from casting.
