Hello These buckles that have been going through the auction are the same ones that were in Bob Evans book in 1999. John Angolia did a page by page break down of all the buckles in the bookon another forum. He didn't have any problem with any of the Diplomatic/goverment buckles. Has anyone come across copies of these buckles on line or at any shows? I belive someone a manions labled them copies. The ones listed as copies have the same reserve as the ones listed as original. They list well known copies as originals. They may have listed originals as copies. I bought the RSLV/DLV leaders buckle. It arrived yesterday and I could be more pleased. Kirby

Mmmmm…. Certainly missed that nice LW tropical… I should be more on the Internet instead of on holidays all the time…
As for the diplomat buckle (s) they are original. No problems with them. And I remember them been on Manions a few weeks ago, I was surprised no –one was bidding on them as they are in super condition and the prices where more than reasonable. Don’t forget that a complete diplomat set (buckle and brocade) will sell for over 3000$….

            Marc,

So nice to hear from you that the Diplo buckles are good. The more I looked at them the more I thought "These things have got to be good" If not shame on all of us. So anyway I bought one- the heavy nickel one in silver. Great price and even though I don't collect Third Reich buckles any more I couldn't pass it up; and as you state "a very vey tough buckle to find. My question is ' where did all of these come from? I suspect out of a collection that had the RLB, NSKK and a few of the other obvious fakes. I guess the auction house assumed they were all bad.

Many nice buckles have been sold on Manions lately ( officer SS with paper tag, nickle rotating swastika, diplo's ....) They are from a nice colection in the US. Unfortunatly the owner was not intrested in selling privately.....
